Student Wellbeing Officer
Hello, I’m Nancilee Richards, and I’m excited to be a part of the Mitcham Primary community as the Student Wellbeing Officer. I’ve worked in the education department for the past 18 years, in a variety of roles across different schools, and my passion for supporting students’ wellbeing has been the heart of my career. Over the years, I’ve developed my knowledge and understanding of students across many areas including my role as a Youth Worker, assisting in classroom support, and intervention programs, all of which have deepened my resolve of how important emotional and social wellbeing is to students’ overall success.
In my role as Student Wellbeing Officer, I’m here to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, and valued. I work closely with students and staff to foster a positive, inclusive school environment where students are empowered to navigate both their academic and personal challenges. Whether it’s offering one-on-one support, guiding students through difficult situations, or implementing wellbeing programs, my goal is to provide the resources and care that will help students feel confident, resilient, and ready to succeed.
I truly believe that supporting a student’s emotional and social development is just as important as their academic achievements. A student who feels heard and understood is more likely to thrive in all aspects of their life. In addition to offering direct support to students, I work with teachers and staff to create a school environment that prioritises mental health and wellbeing, ensuring that our students have the best possible foundation for both learning and personal growth.
I’m always here to listen, offer guidance, or simply provide a space for students to talk through whatever may be on their minds. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or just need someone to reach out to, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. I look forward to working together to ensure that every student has the support they need to flourish at Mitcham Primary School.
