Soccer

Mitcham Primary School participates in Terms 2 and 3 in the Southern Districts Junior Soccer Association (SDJSA). Teams are primarily organised by year level, but depending on numbers, some mixed-year teams may result. Boys and girls from Years 2 to 6 are eligible to play.

COACHES & TEAM MANAGERS

Each team requires a coach and a team manager, and they must provide a referee for home matches. These roles are usually filled by parent volunteers. Please consider volunteering; no experience is necessary, and the SDJSA offers free training for coaches and referees.

Note: Teams without a coach, team manager, or referee will not be able to participate.

Subject to availability, a coach may be outsourced, incurring an additional fee of $15 per training session and $10 per game.

MATCH DAYS & TIMES

Matches are played as part of the SDJSA non-competitive league, with modified rules and no ladder system. Games are held on Saturday mornings from mid-May to early September, with a carnival event held for each age group during the season. Matches last 40–50 minutes depending on the age group, and fixtures are released the week of the first match. There are no games during school holidays.

HOME MATCH AND PRACTICE VENUE

Home matches will be held at:

  • Mitcham Primary School (Under 8-10)
  • Mitcham Girls High School (Under 11 – Senior Primary)

Training times and days are determined by the coach and typically occur on a weekday after school for 45–60 minutes.

UNIFORM

A Mitcham sports top is provided and must be returned at the end of the season. Players must supply:

  • Boots
  • Shin pads
  • Royal blue socks
  • Royal blue shorts
REGISTRATION AND FEE PAYMENT

The fee is $120 for Terms 2 and 3, covering equipment, registration, and trophies. Teams without parent volunteers for coaching will incur additional coaching fees.
